【講演概要】Much has changed over the past few years on how the IEEE Computer Society is engaging with members and how it is responding to member needs and expectations. Demographic shifts are affecting almost every sphere of life and are creating significant change and, at the same time, tremendous opportunities. Learn more about how the IEEE Computer Society is responding to change, the impact of its diversity and inclusion (D&I) activities and how members can address societal changes.

【略歴】Nita Patel, P.E., is Senior Director, Engineering Lead Design Center – Farmington at Otis leading a critical part of the global engineering development, providing a wide range of new product capabilities in connected, smart, IoT-based platforms. She was previously with L3Harris where she was Senior Director, Engineering, and led multi-disciplinary, embedded-software design teams in innovative research and new product development, for which she was recognized for significant technical contributions as 2014 L3 Engineer of the Year and 2011 New Hampshire Engineer of the Year.
Nita is a Director of the IEEE Foundation and is active with multiple Computer Society committees, the IEEE Industry Engagement Committee, several IEEE WIE Committees, and the IEEE New Hampshire executive committee. Nita has served as 1st Vice President Computer Society, served a three-year term on the Computer Society Board of Governors, founded and led the first five years of the IEEE Women in Engineering International Leadership Conference (WIE ILC), served as Women in Engineering International Chair for which she received the 2014 Larry K Wilson Transnational Award for distinguished contributions to IEEE global activities, served on the Eta Kappa Nu Board of Governors and was IEEE-USA VP of Communications & Public Awareness.
Outside of IEEE, Nita is an active leader within Toastmasters International and the United States Chess Federation. Nita received her MS Computer Engineering, BS Electrical Engineering, and BS Mathematics from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
