A 2.6mW BLE Transmitter Front-End with Fully-Passive Harmonic Suppression

This work proposed a Bluetooth Low-Energy transmitter front-end with low power consumption and fully-passive on-chip harmonic suppression fabricated in 65nm CMOS process. By tuning the switched capacitors, the transformer-based class-F power amplifier could operate at class-E and provide HD2 suppression. The measurement results show −64dBc HD2 at −6dBm output, which is the lowest among the state-of-the-art designs. The whole transmitter could achieve power efficiency of 18.5% of at 0dBm output while consuming 5.4mW power.
