A Competition based Power Allocation Scheme for Downlink NOMA HetNet

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) permits multiple users to simultaneously access the same resource blocks via different levels of transmitted power. In heterogeneous networks (HetNet) using NOMA, proper power allocation to macro-cell (MC) base station (MBS) and small-cell (SC) base stations (SBSs) is required to avoid serious cross-tier interference. In this article, a novel power allocation scheme is proposed for downlink NOMA in HetNet, named PA-NOMA-HetNet, where the power allocation problem is modeled as a Bertrand competition game between the MBS and the SBS with the aim of increasing the system throughput.
