An UAV-assisted Spectrally Efficient Relaying Scheme Based on NOMA

In this paper, we consider the scenario where there are unconnected mobile
stations (MSs) from a base station owing to unexpected blockage from obstacles or disasters. The unconnected MSs are supported by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) which forward their desired signals using opportunistic two-hop relaying schemes based on non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA). We introduce a spectrally efficient successive relaying scheme leveraging a single UAV selection to transmit a superimposed signal among uniformly distributed UAVs. We evaluate the schemes in terms of outage probability and show their numerical results.
