Fast Beamforming Training for mmWave MIMO Systems in Sparse Channels

In order to implement millimeter wave (mmWave) data rate with more than 10 Gbps, transmission of multiple data streams by using massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system is expected for next generation mmWave WLANs (IEEE 802.11ay) or 5G communications. Effective beam training algorithms for LOS channels have been proposed. In this paper, we propose fast capacity based beam training for mmWave MIMO sparse channels.
