Secure Load Balanced Handover in LTE Self Organized Network

Handover, load balancing, and radio link failure (RLF) are the common problems derived from user mobility. Mobility robustness optimisation is a procedure in self-optimization, which automatically optimises the radio parameters while the UE is in mobility, and it makes an accurate handover decision to minimise the RLF. To improve the handover performance keeping loads balanced and its security, we propose a mechanism with the following characteristics. First, the mechanism performs channel selections based on signal strength and measures the distance between neighbour cells by using Manhattan distance calculation. Analytical hierarchy process is defined with numerical rating values to rank the cells. Then, the mechanism validates the neighbour cells load at SeNB before the handover. To avoid the vulnarable threts a trusted third party node is integrated for secure handover.
