Automotive Windscreen Antenna Far Field Estimation from Near Field on Earth Ground

In this paper, we propose a method for estimating the far field of an automotive windscreen antenna using near field information from an arbitrary antenna. Real source information is derived based on method of moments by linear approximation of conductor surface, and far field estimation is performed assuming the mirror image source relative to earth using plane wave reflection coefficient. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by using a windscreen monopole antenna as the estimation target.
