A Job Assignment Algorithm for Cloud Computing in Vehicular Environment

Cloud computing can enhance performance while reduce the cost on hardware. However due to the coverage and mobility problems in vehicular environment, centralized cloud does not perform well. It has been shown that offloading job to peer users who have idle resources can improve performance in handheld mobile devices as well as vehicles. But existing work is done by considering each job independently. An improvement is proposed in this paper that multiple jobs and potential processing hosts are considered at the same time to achieve better resource management and higher user satisfaction. An algorithm is developed to solve the assignment problem and the evaluation shows it does improve the user satisfaction.
