Interference suppressing performance of a sub-band selection based MIR UWB system

A sub-band selection based Multiband Impulse Radio Ultra Wideband ( MIR UWB ) system proposed in this paper is an extension of MIR UWB system. Using a mapping algorithm, the transmitter of this system randomly selects several sub-bands from all possible sub-bands for transmission and improves the ability of interference avoidance. In this paper, interference suppressing performance of this system with different modulation modes ( TH-PAM and TH-PPM ) of the system is discussed and evaluated. Simulation results show that the proposed system has a better BER performance than that of the conventional system under the presence of interference, and the system performance with TH-PAM is better than that with TH-PPM.
