Development of A Simple 3-D Image Measurement System for Construction and Renovation

In construction and house renovation industry, the demands for measuring the size of a door or a window, etc. are huge. The conventional method is an artificial actual measurement, it has a bad efficiency and may import artificial errors and random errors.
To solve these problems, in this research, we try to use stereopsis technique to realize the measurement of these construct. A easy way to realise this method we use is to take photos by two-lens camera or a stereo lens adapter. Based on this method, we develop a measurement system which can obtain size of construction. From our test, we can see, the measurement system is convenient to calculate size of constructions without contract.
