Study on Polarization Splitter and Converter Using Square Lattice Elliptical-hole Core Circular-hole Holey Fiber

Polarization converters (PCs) have attracted the interest of many researchers in recent years due to its applications in communication systems, such as polarization switches and polarization modulators. In this research, we propose a novel PC using square lattice elliptical-hole core circular-hole holey fibers (EC-CHFs) with a short conversion length and a simple structure distribution. In addition, we combine the PC with a polarization splitter which we have proposed to achievethe polarization separation and conversion at the same time.
