Spherical Dielectric Resonator As an Accurate Source of High-order Mode Spherical Wave

For microwave power transmission, miniaturization of the antenna is a problem because the transmission efficiency depends on effective aperture of the antenna. The objective of this research is to develop a small-size large-aperture antenna by using spherical dielectric resonator. In this paper, the radiation power distribution of the dielectric resonator is investigated by the eigenvalue equation. As a result, it is revealed that the field of outside of the resonator is exactly consistent with spherical wave at each mode. Spherical dielectric resonator as an accurate source of high-order mode spherical wave is discussed.
