Evaluation of Sub-Nyquist Sampling for BPSK/QPSK Signals Sparsely Located in Wideband Spectrum

High-speed ADCs are still impractical to sample wideband signals. Sub-Nyquist sampling reduces a sampling rate by exploiting the sparsity of wideband signals along with the compressed sensing theory. A possible application of sub-Nyquist sampling could be cognitive radio system, where the sampling circuit has to acquire the entire wide frequency band before the sampling. In this work, we evaluate a sub-Nyquist sampling for wideband sparse signals in terms of BPSK/QPSK signals. We also extend the system by overclocking in order to support higher bit-rate and reduce reconstruction error. The bit error rate achieved by the sub-Nyquist sampling and its overclocked version is compared with the BER obtained by the traditional Nyquist sampling to show a trade-off of the sub-Nyquist sampling.
