A mathematical model of an e-mail network with scale-free and bursting properties

We investigated distributions of degree and the temporal interval of an e-mail network, using the Enron e-mail dataset. We showed that the Enron e-mail network has scale-free and the bursting properties simultaneously. We also proposed a simple model of the Enron e-mail network and conducted simulations to show the validity of the proposed model. As a result, we showed that our model can reproduce the two properties.
