In vast power systems, poorly damped inter-area oscillations (IAOs) limit the system performance. In case of faults, such modes are excited throughout the system and in the worst case lead to the system-wide blackout. Identification of IA modes is thus of vital importance. In this report, we perform the identification of modes based on the Koopman Modal Analysis (KMA) in the Nordic 32-bus test system (N32), which is a model of the Swedish/Nordic power system with a highly present IAO. KMA provides a nonlinear and comprehensive approach to modal decomposition and a method for detecting coherent generators based on measured data.
